I walked down the streets of Eureka, and suddenly smelled pesto! The basil and parsley, mixed in with parmesan cheese! I just knew I had to make something for dinner that night with pesto in it! I got home, and started with my appetizer. I went with a simple salad, with carrots, radishes, cabbage, and a buttermilk ranch dressing on top. It wasn’t that creative to use salad as my appetizer, but it looked pretty good on the plate!
Next, for my main course, I made pasta, but with pesto on top, since I’d been craving it. I already had some leftover pasta and chicken, so I just made the pesto with basil, kale, walnuts, parsley, and olive oil all blended together, and added parmesan for that extra flavor. It was a pretty good idea, but it wasn’t the best on the plate. The pesto was just plopped on the pasta, and the chicken was on the side. It tasted pretty good though, and was creative because you don’t always see chicken and pesto together, but they make for a good flavor.
After that, I prepared garlic bread, with closely chopped garlic and shredded parmesan on top. It turned out a little overcooked, and was a little spicy. It did look nice on the plate, but is a pretty common thing to have with pasta.
Lastly, I had some lemon sorbet. While this treat may have tasted almost the best, it wasn’t very creative, was just spooned into a bowl, and came from the store. It overall wasn’t very fancy. The taste and texture was wonderful though.
Overall, this meal ranked about a 65%, so it was better than average. There were some aspects to this that just weren’t the best, like the garlic bread. But it was a pretty good meal for stuff mostly around the house.
I'm coming to your house for dinner!
